We are recruiting! We are interested in recruiting graduate students, undergraduate students, one or more research assistants/technicians, and one or more postdoctoral researchers. We are currently funded through a R00 award from NIEHS to assess several types of common environmental surfactants in cell assays and zebrafish and a P30 pilot grant to evaluate mixtures of organic/inorganic contaminants.
If you're interested in joining our group, read more below and email me your CV/resume and interest(s). I feel strongly about open communication and clear expectations, a friendly/inclusive and cooperative lab environment, and a positive work-life balance for everyone in the lab. |
Graduate Students |
While our laboratory home is in the Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, I am also a graduate faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine. If you are a graduate student in Pharmacology, I'm happy to discuss rotation projects and the potential for joining my group. If you're a graduate student in another department at Wayne State and interested in joining, reach out and I can pursue a secondary appointment to allow for working with my group during your degree program.
If you are not yet a Wayne State graduate student, you can read more about applying to the Department of Pharmacology here or here, or to other departments here. Please feel free to email me with any questions! |
Medical StudentsUndergraduate Students |
My joint position within the Department of Pharmacology provides opportunities for medical students to get involved in research projects in the lab. We have diverse research projects active in the lab and I'm happy to discuss potential projects with you.
We're always interested in undergraduate trainee support! Undergrads can support with laboratory sample preparation and extraction (e.g. water samples, silicone wristbands, etc.), cell culture mechanism questions, and zebrafish colony care and support. Over time and with interest, they can also get involved with independent or group projects, including both cell culture and zebrafish.

Postdoctoral Researchers |
We have the capability to support one or more postdoctoral researchers in our group at Wayne State. We can use support for currently funded projects and interests in the lab, though I'm also very happy to discuss your interests and see how we can carve out independent research questions for your own career development.
Open postdoctoral researcher position posted here! |
Research Assistants/
|
We have recently hired a lab technicians/research assistant to support our funded research programs, our zebrafish colony, and to support new research directions. We do not have openings for this role at this time.
